Founded in 1953, 15MCC holds the special-grade (top-tier) general contracting qualifications for metallurgical construction, dual Class-A (top-tier) qualifications for metallurgical architectural engineering design, and seven first-class general contracting licenses for construction. The company has a strong track record in the mining and metallurgical sectors, having completed over 160 mining projects—spanning nonferrous metals, metallurgy, coal, and gold—as well as more than 180 metallurgical projects. It has received six Luban Prizes, China's highest honor in architecture and designing, along with 15 National Quality Engineering Awards and 96 provincial and ministerial-level awards.
15MCC has participated in the construction of 70 percent of China's copper smelting capacity, seven of the world's nine "double flash" copper smelters, as well as six of the world's eight copper smelters with an annual output of 400,000 tonnes.
